Directory Services 7.4.3

Blowfish Password Storage Scheme (DEPRECATED)

DEPRECATED for removal since 7.0.0: Reversible password storage schemes are weaker than modern hash based schemes and should be avoided if possible. They are only required when using legacy SASL mechanisms. Alternative: A strong hash-based scheme such one of the schemes enabled by default.

The Blowfish Password Storage Scheme provides a mechanism for encoding user passwords using the Blowfish reversible encryption mechanism.

This scheme contains only an implementation for the user password syntax, with a storage scheme name of "BLOWFISH".

Parent

The Blowfish Password Storage Scheme object inherits from Password Storage Scheme.
